Removing tint on your windows has never been this easy. All you need to do is have a newspaper, a cleaning sponge and a pale of soap and water. Here are some easy steps on how to remove window tint using newspaper and soap only. Start by making a mixture of soap and water which you will be using. Next, use your household cleaning sponge to apply it to your window. Make sure that all the surface area of the window will be covered with soap and water.
Once all areas of the window have been soaked with soap and water, you can now then apply the newspaper on your window. Make sure it fits right in your window and all the tinted areas of the window are directly touching the newspaper you placed. It doesn’t matter if the newspaper is old or new as long as it is a newspaper that you can use.
Leave the newspaper in place for approximately one hour. If you see the newspaper sliding off your window, reapply the soap and water mixture to the newspaper to make it stick even more to the tinted window. You can do this every 10-15 minutes to ensure that the newspaper is making contact with the tint films.
After an hour or so, try to scrape the newspaper together with your window tint film. If the tint does not come off with the newspaper, carefully reapply the newspaper using the mixture of soap and water and leave for another hour.
Make sure that the newspaper is wet every 10-15 minutes. Try to remove the newspaper again after the allotted time. You should be able to remove it together with the tint this time.
If you can’t peel the tint using your hands, you can use a razor or a squeegee in removing the newspaper and tint. It would be better to use a rubber squeegee than a razor since it can damage your window. Do all of the steps above until you are done with all the windows.
It would be better for you to use this method of tint removal during a cloudy day since the newspaper will tend to stay wet for a longer period of time which is preferable to loosen the adhesive used in applying the tint. If you don’t want to do the removal process by yourself and have some money to spare, then hire a window tinting service since they can also remove tints at an additional price.
