The job interview is something that we must all go through if we are seeking employment. It can be a stressful time because we want to show the interviewer that we are the right person for the job. Because every interviewer is different it can be hard to totally prepare for all situations. The key is to be calm and sound confident in your answers. You may wonder as the interview goes on if the interview is going well or not.
One key thing to keep in mind is if at the end of the interview they give you a time when you will hear back. This is a positive sign that they are considering you for the job. Remember that there are no guarantees that you will land the job because they may still have a list of people they want to talk with. The flip side to this is when they tell you that they will be in touch. This is usually a clear sign that they feel you are not a good fit or they may have made a decision on someone else already.
Another thing you want to be aware of is if the interviewer starts to talk about how wonderful it is to work at the company. This can be a good indication that things are working in your favor as well. The thing you have to remember is you do not know how many positions they are filling and how many people are applying for these positions. They may have more jobs to fill that people who applied and this will make it easier for you to get hired.
When you hear the interviewer say things such as when can you start then you know you are almost in the door. You want to still be cautious because unless they start the paperwork you are not guaranteed anything yet but it is a good sign. Make sure that when you are in the interview you have your ears open for signs that the interview can be going in your favor. You do not have to be over aggressive so let the questions come to you. Most interviewers have a certain style and even if you think you have the job wait until you know for sure.
Remember that going through the interview process can be a stressful thing. If you are looking for a new job then you know that it is a must. There are certain signs that you should look for so that you know if the interview is going well or not. Since each interviewer is different it is not always clear as to whether or not they will give off these signs. So if you feel like you are dealing with someone that is not giving off these signals do not get discouraged it may be the way they are and you could still end up landing the job.
